3E Now aims to Educate and Empower teens to Eliminate dating violence.
We educate by delivering evidence-based curricula to schools and organizations around Pittsburgh. Participants in our programs learn more about partner violence through watching, reading, envisioning, and discussing. They study underlying societal issues, such as sexism and toxic masculinity, and the way these issues affect or are perpetuated by them. We also train directly applicable skills, such as bystander intervention, recognizing unhealthy relationships, and how to report violent incidents. Participants emerge from our programming more knowledgeable about this public health crisis, and conscious of what they can do to work towards a better society.
We empower by mentoring our participants towards leadership roles. We recognize the influence that peers, coaches and other figures hold on our youth. Our curriculums ensure that these figures have a role in educating others, whether by having coaches talk to their athletes about healthy masculinity and consent, or by having students organize sexual violence prevention fairs. Our participants recognize their knowledge and their potential to promote mutual respect and equality in all of their relationships. Therefore, trough empowerment, our influence reaches far beyond the four corners of the classroom.
Since 2010, 3E Now has delivered educational programming to thousands of students and educators in Western Pennsylvania. Furthermore, from our post-programming surveys, we know that 95 percent of participants recommend our program to others; and 92 percent indicate that they will apply what they have learned from 3E Now programming to their own relationships.
3E Now is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. We strongly believe that sexual violence education should be available to all members of our community, and have therefore committed to providing our services at no charge to our partners.
